Job Description:

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted.  No relocation is offered.

As a Lead Systems Engineer at Cricket Wireless, you will play a pivotal role in our IT Quality Engineering team, focusing on Azure cloud-hosted applications. You will leverage your extensive experience and expertise to creatively resolve complex technical issues and lead challenging projects. Collaborating closely with IT leaders, you will provide guidance and oversight of technical efforts performed by various vendors, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and support of Azure cloud-hosted applications, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Test Automation: Implement and enhance test automation frameworks using open-source tools with a focus on Ginger. Utilize Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit for comprehensive testing.
  • Programming: Apply your strong proficiency in Java, Python, and JavaScript to develop and maintain automation scripts and tools.
  • CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions to ensure continuous delivery and quality.
  • Testing Expertise: Conduct end-to-end testing, functional testing, and security-focused testing. Familiarity with TDD and BDD methodologies is a plus.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure: Utilize hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments, Docker, and Kubernetes to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Agile Methodologies: Embrace Scrum and Agile methodologies to drive iterative development and continuous improvement.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with test automation tools including Ginger, Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Expertise in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end testing, functional testing, and security-focused testing.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Senior-level experience with at least 5 years in test automation and system engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Optional but beneficial certifications: ISTQB Certified Tester (Advanced or Expert level), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or other Agile-related certifications, Certifications in relevant tools and technologies (e.g., Selenium WebDriver with Java, Docker Certified Associate).

Summary of Key Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Ginger, Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Java, Python, JavaScript, CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitHub), Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Testing Proficiency: Extensive experience in end-to-end and functional testing.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration abilities, familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in a senior test automation/system engineering role.

Job Contribution: An experienced professional, recognized as an expert, creatively resolving complex issues with broad and in-depth knowledge. Leads significant projects with strategic autonomy, influencing executive decisions. Mentors less experienced staff, implements long-term plans impacting the organization, and frequently collaborates with senior leadership.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired in Computer Science. 5+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
