AT&T named among Best Places to Work in New York in 2019

2019 has been a huge year for our team in the Big Apple – including the opening of our Hudson Yards campus. But now, it’s about to get even bigger.

Great Places to Work and FORTUNE have named AT&T among the 2019 Best Places to Work in New York. Great Place to Work considers over 50 points when researching who to include in the list. How one’s work can make a difference, whether the work has special meaning… no matter who they are or what they do, the rankings base themselves off employee experience above all else.

With that in mind, we couldn’t be prouder of our people for creating a workplace where everyone can achieve their potential. An environment where over 3,000 AT&T employees who call NYC home and make it a great place to live for people in the community.

Take ScreenReady, for example. Part of our AT&T Believes program, ScreenReady helps kids and teens stay safe online. While the initiative is mostly on the web, our teams are taking it a step further. For example, our people volunteered at YMCAs across the five boroughs to give families a crash course on safety settings, parental controls and content filters across their devices. We’re happy to work alongside people who know the importance of giving back by sharing their knowledge and talents.

All parents want their children to be safe, happy and healthy. AT&T is committed to helping families navigate the complex digital world so that our kids develop healthy online habits at an early age. Thank you to our friends at the YMCA and all of our devoted team members who volunteered their time to bring these resources directly to our communities today.

- Marissa Shorenstein, President, Northern Region, AT&T

Inside our New York offices, our teams have also given a new home to Girls Who Code (GWC). Since 2013, we’ve supported GWC and its mission of introducing girls and young women to tech careers. In that time, our teams have opened their doors, hosting events and summer workshops to connect the next generation of leaders to STEM skills. Along with a $1 million contribution, we’re giving them the space to do incredible work and continue a partnership with us.

We believe every student deserves opportunities to reach his or her full potential. By removing barriers, we’re helping ignite innovative solutions and create connections.

- Nicole Anderson, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, AT&T President, The AT&T Foundation

During Pride Month, we celebrated in New York City – recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. Our teams are continuing a tradition of supporting the LGBTQ+ community – something the people at our company have done for decades. That includes a $1 million commitment to the Trevor Project, whose crisis services support LGBTQ+ youth.

As one of the first corporate allies of the LGBTQ community, providing resources and support – whether it’s through our technology or our dedicated employees – to help save the lives of LGBTQ+ young people is a crucial part of our mission.

- Valerie Vargas, SVP of Advertising and Creative Services, AT&T

We’re already so proud of what everyone from New York has accomplished. Whatever our teams do next, we’re sure it will be amazing. The best part? You can be a part of it, too.
