The Network Expense Manager (NEM) partners with the West Region Mobility Network Operations leadership to prepare and manage the annual network expense budget. Responsibilities include:
* Drive the preparation and quality of expense budgets, forecasts and 3 year plans for the West region and six markets. Ensure models are built using key drivers and rate/volume metrics where applicable.
* Prepare all applicable accruals, analyze results daily during the close and MoM and vs. budget to ensure all variances are understood. Prepare monthly reporting and variance analysis as required by Network Finance, Mobility Network Operations, other Mobility segment partners and BOD organizations. Identify risks and opportunities to ensure achievement of financial targets.
* Assist in preparation of periodic Tech Type forecasts, including MOU info, MOU movement, UMTS capacity growth, UMTS & LTE footprint expansion. Variances to forecast will need to be addressed and explained.
* Review and approve Network expense purchase requisitions. Review monthly PO reports to ensure proper receiving has been performed and review / prepare any reclasses and/or accruals.
* Ensure proper accounting and operational controls are followed for assets to be rationalized, relocated or decommissioned.
* Work with the Capital organization to ensure proper accounting of transactions between capital and expense.
* Complete business cases and ad-hoc analyses for the local and regional network teams, such as new site build analysis and tech type analysis.
* Ensure sound internal controls are followed, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
Required Degrees/Majors/Accreditations/Skills: BA in Finance or Accounting. 5+ years experience (wireless preferred). Proven ability to work in fast paced environment, produce high quality deliverables on time and develop effective client relationships. Proven ability to work independently and to interface with all levels of management. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills. Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
Desired Degrees/Majors/Accreditations/Skills: Knowledge of Oracle financial systems preferred. Graduate level degree with a focus on finance or accounting desired. CPA, CFA, MBA are a plus.
